An Introduction

Introductions….Oh, I am so terrible at introductions and first impressions. Everyone wants to know the basics;  job, car, ect. So, yes, I have a  job, a beat up old truck, and a dog who enjoys eating lizards. These are the important things, you think, the things that make a person. The things you care about.

I like mint chocolate, coffee, and mangos. Not together, of course. I paint. I play guitar at three o’clock in the morning when I cannot sleep.

I live on stage. I breathe in scripts and exhale character. But I am not that fantastic. Do not be fooled into thinking my love for performances translates into awesome talent. It doesn’t.

I read alot. Anything really. I’m rather fond of Tennessee Williams. No one does southern crazy quite as well. I stalk the mailbox and wait for my weekly installment of TIME magazine. I also have a collection of textbooks that I never gave back.

I get irritated with my state of existance on occasion. The human experience is something else. I mean, no one came into the womb where I was floating and asked me if I wanted to be human. No one got my permission to cast my lot in with a certain race. It’s the luck of the draw, and whether it is good luck or bad luck is what you make of it I suppose.

I think everyone should be required to work retail for at least one year. It builds character and makes for good conversation. Sometimes, if you are lucky, you will be smarter than the collective employee pool of whichever hellish establishment you work for.

Music feeds my soul. I’ve got something of everything. My iPod looks like iTunes got a virus and vomited. I really love Louis Armstrong. Jazz has substance, and just when you think you’ve got it figured out, it changes. It moves me.

These are the things that matter to me.

I was thinking about having a daily blog, but then it sounded like way too much commitment, so I opted for weekly. But then I realized that I will be looking for things to say if I slot times for writing. Because, honestly, if I have to sit and think about what I have to say instead of letting the words pour out it will be terrible. So there will be new posts whenever I damn well feel like it. Because it is my blog and I can do it however I want.

I’ve also run out of things for this introduction.
